"A man was arrested yesterday, charged with attempting to obtain money under false pretenses. He claimed he was promoting a device whereby one person could talk to another several miles away, by means of a small apparatus and some wire. Without doubt this man is a fraud and an unscrupulous trickster and must be taught that the American public is too smart to be the victim of this and similar schemes. Even if this insane idea worked it would have no practical value other than for circus sideshows."

News paper article about the arrest of Alexander Graham Bell.

Interesting. Had to relink it.

I ran out of hard drive space today.
*adds anther disk to his list of things to buy once employed again*

I recently took some government aptitude tests. I scored high... on everything.
What does this mean? Well, I would guess that means that I should get into something that I want to do as anything that I do do I would do well.
The only real issue with this is that I do not know what it is that I would want to do.
There are many things that I have an interest in, but none of them I have found that I would either want to do as a living, or that I would want to do but don't make enough money to survive.
So... What is it that I can do that will make enough money, will make me happy, and won't end up with me being tired with what I am doing?
That's a really hard question, and I don't know anyone personally who has managed to get there.
One thing that has been coming to mind lately is doing something with plants. Like working in a greenhouse or something.
The main issue I would have with that is the rather "modern" approach to things that most places would take, Chemicals and using CO2 spewing machines to move things around.
Anyone know of a hippy commune that needs a gardener and pays well?
Aside from that, what do I like? I am good with computers, even though I don't think that I know as much as I should. I can understand them at a level that most people can't. It's like a computer empathy or something. Never managed to figure that one out.
So... combine these two things, and it looks like I should start a grow op or something. (Yes, computers are used a lot in most grow ops. That or a lot of manual number crunching)

I guess it's been a long time since I last did an update to this thing... So here's what's happened in the last few months in brief.
Parasun, the company I have worked for for a few years, was sold to another company down in the Sates, and was then slowly devoured. We all knew ahead of time that the end of was coming. I was laid off a couple of weeks ago. Still floating on the residuals of that one.
Moved again on New Years eve/day. Denise did most of the work though, as I was really sick,
Two days before New Years I was in the hospital. Mostly for dehydration. Turns out that I somehow contracted the Coxsackie virus. It's more commonly known as hand, foot, and mouth disease. It normally only affects kids as adults have better immune systems to be able to handle it without much more than a little discomfort. However, if you get it as an adult, it's worse than if you were a kid, In this case, my immune system was a little down because I had just had four teeth pulled and ran into another cold/flu somewhere. Three strikes, and I was out.
Denise later came down with the same, also with a concussion which was unrelated.
The hospital has seen a lot of us in the last couple of months.

I feel like I should keep typing, but I have run out of things to say.

I recently read an article from 1990 discussing if Santa could actually exist or not.
Link

There was one major problem with their calculations, though.
They aren't taking into account quantum physics.

Santa actually visits all the homes, in the middle of the night, in their time zone. Do to quantum physics, he can be in all of them at the same time, until observed, which is why children are encouraged to stay in bed. If every child stayed up long enough, they would ruin Christmas.

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry has died.
We'll see you in Sto'Vo'Kor.

Pretend feels different.

Best StarTrek music video I have ever seen.
Very hot. ;)

Livejournal is less of a journal than it is a post board. At least for me.
Most journals are things that people do to help them sort out stuff in their lives.
My journal like that consists of internal monologues.

And by new, I mean the first one that I have ever had.
Some people think that the smaller keyboard on the Asus Eee (the one that I am using right now) causes issues and makes it harder to type, but I actually find it easier than some other full sized keyboards that I have tried in the past. It's about the same as my computer keyboard at home, as far as how well I can type.
That being said, it has a 1GB RAM, and 16GB SSHD. That's a little small for most people, but I wanted something that I wouldn't have to worry about the thing being moved or shaken or anything. A normal disk will scratch. The only moving part in this thing is the cooling fan.

Mmm... Ultra portable laptop of joy. I loves it so.

Current Location: work

There was an older man. I am unsure of exactly who it was, but he was involved in role play games of a sort. Loved and respected by thousands. He was living near the post secondary school to which I was going.
Hardly anyone could get close to him in an emotional sense, but as he was dying he took me on. We spent a little time together, just hanging out. He was to a state where he couldn't really do or say anything.
After a day or two, he was getting really bad, and requested my help in ending his life. He wanted to go out by asphyxiation using a mask. I did what I could to prepare the situation, but when it came down to putting this mask on him, I didn't do it. It wasn't because I thought what I was doing was wrong. The reason I didn't do it was because I knew that others wouldn't like it. I saved myself by not killing him.
In the end, someone else did the final bit, and he was dead.
I was suspended from the school while they did an investigation. A test I had written recently came back with a failing mark. Somewhere in the 17 out of 200 range.
I needed to talk to someone about the whole thing, and I found Teela. I was going to tell her the whole story, but woke up after telling her the last thing he said. That was:
Everyone exposes us to dangers. It's how we handle these dangers that makes up our lives. The trick is to find someone who exposes us to the least amount of danger, and spend time with that person.
